Along with developing Out of School Activities for the registered children within the family, we are also looking to develop Family Learning Opportunities.

Family Learning describes a range of activities in an environment that ensures families can learn together

The positives of such activities are;

- Improving the performance of children through parents and children working together.

- Helping parents to feel involved in the development and support of their own child's learning.

- Helping parents to understand how children are taught in school.

- Improving skills with word, number and IT.

- Improving home school links.

- Supporting parenting skills.

- Helps foster a positive attitude toward school.

Adult Education Courses

South Nottingham College provide a fantastic range of qualifications that can be taken part time and within the Nottinghamshire area.

You can find all of the available courses by clicking the link below. Some are accredited through various awarding bodies, e.g. NCFE this is indicated against the course. OCN next to a course listing indicates that you will gain a certificate from the Open College Network that will enable you to progress to higher-level qualifications. These courses have no examinations but you will be expected to submit a folder of work at the end of the course to gain your certificate.

Fee remission is available for all accredited courses and the price indicated is for the FULL COURSE. Other courses are non-accredited and are designed to provide students with an opportunity to follow their personal interests and leisure activities and can lead onto accredited courses. The price indicated is for the full course but courses may be extended where there is sufficient demand and an additional fee will then be payable. These leisure programmes are funded solely through fee income. Consequently everyone attending pays the full fee indicated and there is no fee remission available.
